I'm a walking mixture of shades.

I have always had a huge indescribable love for red telephone boxes. Something so classic, yet not appreciated enough. Maybe it is the beauty within the colour, striking and sophisticated, who knows? Whatever it is, my dream house would feature one in the front garden.

***
I am getting quite worried with the fact that every item of clothing I buy is either white, black or grey. I am a walking mixture of shades with only my lips injecting a bit of colour. Okay, there is always the argument as to whether black or white are colours, but they're not featured within the rainbow, so that is enough justification for me. There is just something so stand out about monochrome and I seriously enjoy wearing it. I think that point is backed up with the fact I mention the trend at least once every blog post but until the summer, I refuse to let go.

I normally avoid horizontal stripes, due to the fact they seem to stretch your body out. However that didn't even cross my mind when my eyes spotted these wonderful black and white scalloped hem shorts. I literally have nothing in my wardrobe that can even compare to them so it was a definite risk, one that I am very glad I have taken. They are an item that can be worn all year round, now with black garments and in the summer with a brightly coloured top and bag. They're a definite wardrobe must have in my eyes.

As soon as I saw this black wrap front top on the rail, my mind instantly paired it with the shorts. I sometimes find that wrap tops can reveal a bit too much but I must say that the shape and material of this top, make it perfectly suitable. It is the definition of a perfect finishing touch and I will definitely be getting my wear out of it. It also comes in a thicker light grey version, and a thin dark grey version. Due to the bold V neck, I didn't think a necklace was necessary so instead paired with some statement blue and silver earrings.

For ages I have searched for a plain black handbag that would compliment any outfit. The answer lies within this gorgeous relaxed box shaped beauty, which comes with two straps. Sometimes you need the bag as the main centrepiece but here I have managed to find an effortlessly versatile bag that can be both a statement but subtle when you need it to be. With three separate compartments, it is also very practical. Who can complain at such a handy, all round perfect bag?

With the natural light, providing me with no 'flattering' close up's of my make up and earrings, I went back to selfie central AKA my bathroom to try and capture the shot. These earrings manage to spruce up an outfit-added to a simple tee and jeans combination and they cause an instant transformation. The light pastel shades also compliment the blonde in my hair. On my eyes, I have gone for a flick, slightly higher than usual and made my lashes as long as possible to try and achieve the false lash effect. I have never found a mascara that works as well as this and I highly recommend that you get it. The link and name is below. My lips are covered in a gorgeous shade of red. Due to the cutback of colour in the outfit, red lips were a must.

Addicted to Shopping|Another Haul

Listening to George Ezra's album my mind gets lost within the words. It is such a feel good, care free album that causes your emotions to run wild. With his mesmerising deep voice and controversial lyrics, I literally can not get enough of the Ezra. It is a singing into the hair brush, volume four notches above average, dancing round the room kind of album and I am totally in love. I cannot tell you what link George Ezra has to the following blog post but it seemed like a good note to start on.

Well, it has been a while since I last blogged due to time running away from me. I seem to blink and the week is already over. The weather hasn't helped much either. With what I would class as extreme coldness (approx -1 degrees) it hasn't exactly been the kind of weather to venture out the comfort of my home to blog. The piles on my bedroom floor however, have been increasing and the mess was just too much for me. Okay I haven't ventured very far out of my home, literally just outside the back door BUT I managed to get a couple of pictures to show you some of my new "unnecessary" purchases!

I have gained a very strong love for checked shirts, especially ones that are a little oversized. The simple addition of a checked shirt can transform an outfit-from throwing it over a dress, tying it around your waist or pairing it with jeans, it is an effortless transformation! Why have I only just realise the outstanding qualities that a checked shirt has? Underneath, is a three quarter length sleeved, to the knee dress-which I must say is extremely comfortable. The ribbed detailing and effortless simplicity, makes this a staple piece in my wardrobe. To complete the look, I added these burgundy 'hiker boots' that will definitely not be used for their hiking purpose. Due to my small size 4's I managed to rescue these from the kids section in New Look-finally my petiteness resulted in some money being saved.

I love finding an item, that has so much potential. You know the kind of item that you have already assigned to an outfit, before you've even paid for it. This simple black long length t-shirt, with slits down the side is the perfect top to wear over a patterned skirt. I didn't know how well it would work but I am very satisfied with the results. Peering out the sides, and at the bottom is a geometric, mustard, black and white print skirt. My shoes, although still chunky are a more feminine option than my usual biker boot look.

Technically this throw over, is not mine as it has its place in my Mums wardrobe. However with the 'one size fits all' label and the fact that it follows the monochrome trend, has sleeves and doesn't drown me- I think we will be sharing! Underneath is a gorgeous khaki green, ribbed, slightly see through high neck top. High neck tops have been my go to this winter and I have lived in this one especially. On my feet are a serious bargain! Of course, they are a pair of boots and it so happens that I was talking about getting a new pair to wear so that my favourite ones do not wear out. I could not say no, when I saw the amazing sale price!

None of the images justify the chunky-ness of these shoes. The fact is, I probably could wear them for grip in the snow due to the enormous rubber soles! However glamorous that idea is, the actual suede shoe, would get ruined. "I do not have a pair of beige boots' was the justification for these! I have never really owned a 'tunic' either, so there was definitely room in my wardrobe for this green and gold checked piece! It also looks lovely with thick black tights and chunky boots! Paired with an ever so bright white, clutch (the shade resembling that of Simon Cowell's teeth) the outfit was complete. Not forgetting the simple gold, earrings!

Okay that was quite a big blog but I needed to cram so many different pieces in! Hopefully I will manage to start blogging more frequently and in more 'adventurous' places than my conservatory brick wall! Hope you enjoyed, as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Christmas Picks

After eating every variety of junk food possible over the last couple of weeks, my body is starting to suffer. You know the casual, having to breathe in when wearing those jeans, the oh I actually look pregnant in this skirt, and woah I can't move my arms in this top kind of  feeling. It is safe to say, sometime in the future (who knows when)  I will have to allow my body some actual nutrients and more exercise than just searching the sale rails.

It is safe to say that Christmas of 2014 was indeed excellent, from the piles of presents, reindeer glasses, family time or the pigs in blankets piled on my plates- it will definitely be one to remember.

I just thought I would share some of the gorgeous pieces I received this year. I am not sure whether doing this blog was the saddest thing ever, as I stood in my garden positioning my selfie stick to get the images I needed but a girl has got to do what a girl has got to do.

Lets start with my new babies. Yes, it is yet another pair of black boots but these had red laces and none of my other boots have red laces. They have a somewhat Timberland look but with a more feminine feel. They are super comfortable with their fur lining and due to the laces manage to stand out. I pair them with almost everything, regardless as to whether or not they go. I am too in love with them, to leave them sitting at home. These were from River Island, of course.

Sticking with River Island, I also got this gorgeous khaki bag with gold chain detailing. I usually try and cram the entire contents of my room into a small side bag when going shopping, only to open it and the whole contents sprawl across the shop floor. Therefore I needed a practical bag, that was casual yet roomy. This ticks all the boxes. I love it. It is very spacious with a front pocket, zip pocket and the option of two different strap lengths. It also comes in a black or beige version, which have stud detailing as opposed to the chain.

Next up are two separate items, firstly the purse. It is also from River Island and I absolutely love the pure, crisp, fresh look of the white and beige. I have wanted a new purse for ages but couldn't find one that I fell in love with. As soon as I saw this, I knew it was the one. It has all the necessary compartments and fits perfectly in my new bag. The second item is the gorgeous cut out heart ring. I am slightly addicted to Pandora rings but never found one that looked right on my forefinger but the simplistic, elegant feel to this ring worked perfectly. It is so beautiful, complimenting my other rings but striking on its own.

As you can probably tell, my favourite high street store is River Island. As this is yet another item from there. This blue, pink, beige and grey blanket scarf caught my eye due to the soothing colours. Most winter scarves are quite harsh, however this double sided piece contrasted the others. I am a sucker for scarves in the winter but don't just wear them for warmth, they need to be on trend. Blanket scarves have been extremely popular over the past couple of months and I found that this was just the right size to be worn in different variations. Sometimes they're too thick to do anything with. This will definitely see me through many more winters.

Next up are these two beautiful pieces of jewellery. First up is the unique, gem and pearl choker from Miss Selfridge. A gorgeous, dressy piece of jewellery that instantly makes an outfit. I have found it quite hard to put it with a top, but this slightly high neck long sleeve allows the gems and silver detailing to really stand out. I really love this item because I haven't seen another choker like it. The second item is another Pandora ring, this time for my middle finger. This gorgeous ring, captioned on Pandora's site as a "classic lace ring" definitely knows how to sparkle. It is much bigger than all my others and caught my eye due to its unique sophisticated shape. This is a ring that does work well with others but stands out best when left solo.

Finally, we have this classic faux fur black gillet from Red Herring, Debenhams. Working effortlessly with jeans, it is a different way to finalise an outfit. I haven't worn it as much as I have wanted yet, due to really feeling the cold but as soon as it starts getting a little warmer I will practically be living in it. The material is beautiful and soft and due to it being black it goes with everything. Whether I am using it as a layer of warmth or simply a finishing touch, this is a wardrobe staple.

So they were some of the key fashion pieces that I received this year. Heading into the new year, without the stress of Christmas at work and Christmas in general, I will be blogging much more frequently. I hope you enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed creating.

Velvet, Patent & Lace

After my laptop malfunctioned and the nights are getting darker, I have had to make the best of a bad situation and shoot some images indoors (with almost as bad a lighting as the outdoors, hence the over editing!)

It is now the time of year where I put my clothing spend on hold and treat other people. I adore going to shops and sourcing out gifts. Surprises are the best. Furthermore I love setting up a day for wrapping and attempting to wrap the items beautifully. However a couple of hours in, I have dead legs, sellotape stuck to my jeans and am contemplating on whether to give up. There is just such a fulfilling satisfaction when giving gifts though. Eeeeee, I love Christmas.

Below, are some items that have made their way into my wardrobe before I put a stop to shopping for myself. They are perfect for this season whether it be to keep you warm or for a night/meal out. Some items are from current stock and they are the main focus pieces however some are from previous seasons.

This gorgeous shirt reminds me some what of a luxury pyjama top. I love the colour khaki but I never saw it as a colour for this season, my mind however has been changed. Paired with some comfy black skinnies, the outfit is oh so simple. To change the feel I have added a pair of velvet six inch platforms and used a purse as a clutch. Perfect for a meal or night out. However simply add a shoulder bag, pair of biker boots and a leather jacket for a more casual look.

This shirt has so many different elements to make it perfect and I am especially in love with the split back. The deep floral pattern causes it to stand out in my wardrobe and the chiffon material allows it to flow elegantly. Paired with the same jeans as above and a pair of chunky platform patent shoes it is still worthy of a night out. The bright green, oversized clutch, used to be a satchel but I have removed the straps. This would also look gorgeous with a leather skirt or pair of leather shorts, the contrast in materials will work effortlessly to create a chic look.

All other items are linked with the above outfit.

Despite the fact I look extremely moody, I really do love this top. I have never gone for an off the shoulder piece before because I thought I would be constantly pulling the sleeves up which would have been rather annoying, I was however proved wrong. I have loved lace from a very young age due to how classic and sophisticated it looks. This is the perfect piece to dress up a casual outfit for a night out and teams perfectly with a choker. I seriously recommend this as a staple piece for the party season.

Lace Off the Shoulder Top- H & M (Current Season)

Okay, I never really do bright but I made an exception here. This jumper was a new shade of orange that I rarely see in store. The simple line detailing down the front and soft, stretchy material make this a jumper perfect for every day wear. It comes in a variety of colours and I am definitely going to get the black one as it will go with everything. Pair with jeans, a skirt, shorts or layered over a dress-the possibilities are endless. A brilliant bargain as well.

I deeply apologise for the awful colourings on these photos but the dark brown wall really didn't work too well against the emerald green dress. This is a simple jumper dress that can be paired with different shoes to tailor to the event. Really taking risks I would pair with some converse but for every day wear I would put with a pair of chunky boots. I love these pattern tights, they're so cute and quirky. Who knows maybe my pattern tight addiction may occur again? The gold detailing at the top of this dress it what makes it a statement piece, the mixture of gold and diamanté beads make this an excellent dress for a meal out and means you don't need to worry about a necklace.

So that will be my last haul until after Christmas, with the exception of Christmas Party shopping. I hope you like the pieces and are in the Christmas Spirit-considering we are now in December and are
getting ever closer by the minute. I AM SO EXCITED. Sorry for the inconsistent blogging I have been so busy and with a poorly laptop it is quite hard. Anyway, enjoy your Christmas shopping and I hope you enjoyed this blog.

Autumn Favourites

It is official, CHRISTMAS is on it's way. I know this for a number of reasons. Not only because we are now in November and the temperature is dropping rapidly but because shops are now playing Christmas songs, cards are splashed across the shelves, stocking fillers are on offer and oh yes, I have seen the Coca Cola advert.

***

It is time to list some of my Autumn favourites so far. Things that I could probably live without BUT I would definitely not want to. Things that keep me warm and have the autumn feel. Some of these items are from the current collections in stores but others I have recycled from last Autumn/Winter-check me out!

The authentic look, pixie shape, bright orange colour and oober cute fox face is what drew me instantly to these gorgeous bootie slippers. I received them last year for Christmas, purchased from H and M and I pray they do them again this year, so I can buy a spare pair. They are so dainty but keep my feet nice and toasty. I am so in love with them!

This monochrome dogtooth scarf, is also from last year. This was from River Island and I think it is perfect because it manages to complete an outfit. The simple yet, bold pattern is subtle yet striking. It is the perfect accessory as not only is it bang on trend but it also manages to keep me warm. I am really in love with big, thick chunky scarves at the moment but this is my favourite out of the ones that I have.

Featured a couple of blog posts ago, this is a coat purchased from New Looks current range. It is a wool blend, straight, collarless styled coat and works perfectly over any outfit. I love the deep pockets, an essential when I have left the gloves at home. I mostly wear this as a smart coat, avoiding all rain. This is definitely my favourite coat of the season!

It is strange because I never really buy pyjamas but I was fed up of not having a cute matching pair, ready for the colder seasons. I am a real sucker for Christmas so found it essential that I bought a pair with a Christmassy theme. The gingerbread men are so cute and I love the red festive bottoms. These were purchased from Matalan's current collection for an amazing £10. It is strange, that a matching pair of snug pyjamas can make a nights sleep more comfortable.

This top doesn't exactly tick the 'warm' category. However I think we can make an exception due to the lovely brown mustard shade that I think really reflects the season that we are in. It is such a simple top and works perfectly with a pair of high waisted jeans, chunky boots and a leather jacket. It is currently in the H and M autumn/winter collection and a piece that I feel can be worn for a majority of the year.

I purchased these shoes a couple of months ago, so there is the chance they could still be in New Look. They are honestly the most comfortable heeled shoes I have ever worn.  They look lovely with a pair of skinny jeans and really add an edgy look to an outfit. Plus they are so easy to walk in thanks to the chunky heel- I can't be dealing with the skinny heels that feel as though they could snap. If you are looking for a pair of comfortable going out shoes, I heavily recommend these!

Although I was in love before the tour, since seeing him live I have fallen even further in love. Although this album has been my favourite since it was released in June, I can't stop listening to it. I also recommend his new book. He doesn't show off in it, he really delves deep into the story as to how he became the most perfect singer songwriter to date (my words, not his) and the illustrations are so personal and different. Plus he brought them out in my favourite colour to! Seriously recommend the both of these and well anything to do with Ed Sheeran really.

So I have taken a slightly different approach to my blog this time, due to being so busy and not having the best of weather, going out hasn't really been easy. I hope you like these items an they inspire you to get some lovely new autumn pieces.

Thank-you very much for reading,
