Things I should be good at ...but I'm not

Are you sure that as the years go on, time doesn't half? Like really, are there still 60 minutes to an hour and 24 hours to a day? Because in reality, we are about to complete the first month of the year and I haven't achieved half of what I had hoped. Whilst I could pin this down to my lazy attitude and my want to be doing something 'social' whenever I can, I simply blame the concept of time.

If I wasn't so particular about pictures in my blog, I would almost update it daily. However due to my desire to pose in pretty locations, my blog posts are always put on hold- mainly because of the weather but also because I need to make sure that me and my photographer (shout out to my Dad) need to be free at the same time, which isn't always easy!

So coming soon is a new feature on my blog: Purchase of the month but it has been placed on hold due to a lack of images. Instead I have rustled up a quick blog, more on a lifestyle basis that looks at the 10 life things, I should really be good at... but I'm not.

1. Cutting in a straight line- being a teaching assistant this is highly embarrassing.

2
. Getting toothpaste out of the tube- If the tube isn't at least 3/4's full I battle a daily struggle. I just don't understand, this should be simple and easy!

3. Putting my hair into a GOOD ponytail- I envy the girls that rock a full looking, not much effort put in, but still placed perfectly, ponytail. Please someone teach me, my morning routine could be so much quicker!

4. Eating fruit- I try, I really do but I just don't find it that pleasing.

5. Wearing matching socks- (unless I'm in my brothers trainer socks) One will feature a zoo animal and the other a Christmas character- Hey life's too short to waste time matching socks.

6. Opening envelopes- Someone please tell me the knack behind opening envelopes.

7. Finding an empty seat on a bus- It's such a panic situation, whatever time of day. The worst part is, when the bus driver can't wait for you to sit down, so sets off, causing you to do that embarrassing little stumble. *Tuck hair behind ears and slide onto seat, place in headphones and shut out the world*.

8. Painting my nails- I used to just have issues with painting my right hand, however with age my nail painting skills have crumbled. I'm impatient, unsteady and clearly not cut out for this skill.

9. Getting out of bed after I've had a shower- The best feeling is getting back into bed after a shower and getting all snuggly while you 'naturally' dry. However finding the energy to then get up and ready is near impossible.

10. Removing empty cups from my room- *sigh* I know the pile of mismatched cups is extremely unattractive but the effort it takes to remove them is worse.

The list can go on and on...

But there you have it a little bit more about the person behind this blog! Not exactly the usual post but coming up next will be My Purchase of the Month, so back to my favourite writing topic-fashion!

Thanks for reading,

All In One

With the breeze causing my hair to dance and the sun shining down on my face, finally it feels like summer. The freshly cut, daisy splattered grass feels fresh against my bare legs and my silence is disturbed by the monotone buzzing of a bee. The trees are wearing green and the flowers are bursting with colour. This is such a happy, feel good season. Oh, how I love summer.

All in ones only come with one negative. The need for the toilet. The, please can you undo this for me or the I'm currently sat on the toilet in just my bra situation. Other than that, they are the perfect thing for the summer. A simple one piece outfit that says it all. An on trend item, that is not only easy but can be dressed up or down- the perfect money saver. I have scouted the high street stores and have found a variety of different play suits/jumpsuits for the summer, all at affordable prices!

#1- 60's Inspired

This wonderful geometric one piece is a dress at the front but a play suit at the back. I instantly fell in love with the structured shape and pattern. This is more of a going out play suit in my eyes and paired with these white heels, screams 60's inspired fashion. I fully recommend you check out this range in Zara as it is truly magnificent with some outstanding and unique patterns and strong shapes.

#2-Burnt Orange and Navy

With my 5ft and a 1/4 height getting in the way of many clothing choices, I was thrilled when I walked into my local New Look and noticed they now do the petite range in store. With my arms full of clothes, I went into the fitting room and was delighted with the length and fit of everything.
The oriental pattern on this play suit caught my eye, along with the soft silky material. This is more of a causal look play suit, however paired with some heels this could work on a night out too. I am loving burnt orange at the moment and the flower detailing works perfectly with my sandals. This is a must have holiday piece.

#3-Ruby Red

I have always loved the colour red and clashing against my pale skin it definitely provides a colour statement. Red is normally associated with Christmas, however this shade is easily made for the summer. The simple bow detailing and elasticated waist make this a cute relaxed fit, perfect for the beach, shopping or a casual coffee meet up. Okay, I may have gone a bit over board with the colour co-ordinating but the white sandal and clutch bag combination just had to be done. As for the bold sunglasses, who could resist?

#4-All Dressed in Aztec

This is the cheapest play suit of them all, coming from the wonderful Primark. I love the Aztec print and although the colours are dull, the predominately light pattern still works for the summer. The simple belt detailing adds some more structure. This is an item that will be worn throughout the summer and paired with some black tights and a black tee underneath, will also see me through the autumn! Finished with some shockingly bright lips and a neon coral bag, its a simple but effective outfit.

#5-Dressed in Black

Onto the last look, this time a jumpsuit. This is where New Look's petite range does its justice. Never have I ever been able to find a jumpsuit that fits perfectly in all aspects, specially the leg length. This wonderful tailored, black, all in one is perfect for a night out. Very simple but effective, the options to pair with it are endless. Whether you put a top underneath, kimono/blazer on top or vary your footwear choice. This is a party piece that can be worn ALL year round and I highly recommend this as a must have jumpsuit for petite girls!

There are five different high street all in ones. Whether you want something casual or more dressy, the high street stores are riddled with play suits and jumpsuits at the moment. It is a summer fashion essential!
After two months of cold rubbish weather and being extremely busy, I have finally found the time to blog again! I need to make sure I don't get too carried away and ensure I set time aside for blogging-  I have really missed posing, editing and writing! Thank you for reading! :)
