Red Autumn

Red lipstick can change a whole look entirely. Clashing against my pale skin, my lips stand out proud causing my smile to glow. Scraping my hair into a ponytail and assembling the red bandanna, I feel in some way I have made an effort with my hair today but on the other hand no effort at all. Pulling up my knee high socks, I feel like I have returned to my school days. Especially because higher up my legs is a wool blend tartan skirt, resembling that of a school uniform. To tone down the look, I slip my feet into a pair of chunky biker boots, making the outfit more tailored to me. To finish the outfit is accessorized with a red polka dot umbrella, red satchel and some 'Pat Butcher' earrings.

With the tops of my legs feeling numb from the cold, I trot around the grounds-one minute a cool breeze blowing my fringe, the next a massive typically British gust almost breaking my umbrella. As a squirrel scurries up a tree, I think how fascinating it is that, that tree has probably outlived everyone in this area and will continue to outlive the next few generations. The leaves start making their descent from the tree, floating peacefully to the floor to join the others that are settled for the winter. The peaceful lake is disrupted by the quacking of a duck, due to my fear of these creatures, the scenery can not fully be appreciated by me. Walking on, I come to a walkway with my path sheltered by over grown trees.

This place would be so much more beautiful with a beaming sun and flawless blue sky but for today I have to accept the cloudy dullness of the sky. For once I have recycled some of last years items but the statement pieces are new- the skirt and the boots. It is an outfit based on red accessories, a stand out colour which is perfect leading up to Christmas. It is a colour that makes me feel really British. As the wind picks up, the weight of the earrings pull down on my ears. It is time to go home, get warm and replace my socks for some thick tights.

Thank-you,

Stocking up for Winter...

Fluff, foxes and collarless coats were the vibes I received from shops on my recent outing. Yet again chunky boots have made an appearance alongside a lot of wool-wool blend hats, coats and dresses, meaning this is going to be one cosy Autumn and Winter. I'm glad to see the back of neons and the entrance of the deep, rich, earthy tones. This is the season of sophistication with the added cuteness of winter animals. Layering doesn't just mean a cardigan-layering means the full 'shabang'-think hats, scarves, gloves, jumpers, tops, vests, coats, why be cold when you can have layers? The textures make everything more interesting. The soft velvets and fluffs contrast the rougher wool and sequinned options.

Indeed I have been on a little spree, to stock up on some winter warmers. To make sure that although the weather can be dull, my clothing will not reflect that- to make sure that I am cosy, comfortable and my clothes reflect my love for this time of year.

As you can see I have got a bit of a variety there, from animal print items to some very staple pieces. The thing is with winter, things come back every year so as long as I don't grow (considering my petite height of 5ft) this shouldn't be a problem. Thank-you very much for viewing my blog today.
