I'm a walking mixture of shades.

I have always had a huge indescribable love for red telephone boxes. Something so classic, yet not appreciated enough. Maybe it is the beauty within the colour, striking and sophisticated, who knows? Whatever it is, my dream house would feature one in the front garden.

***
I am getting quite worried with the fact that every item of clothing I buy is either white, black or grey. I am a walking mixture of shades with only my lips injecting a bit of colour. Okay, there is always the argument as to whether black or white are colours, but they're not featured within the rainbow, so that is enough justification for me. There is just something so stand out about monochrome and I seriously enjoy wearing it. I think that point is backed up with the fact I mention the trend at least once every blog post but until the summer, I refuse to let go.

I normally avoid horizontal stripes, due to the fact they seem to stretch your body out. However that didn't even cross my mind when my eyes spotted these wonderful black and white scalloped hem shorts. I literally have nothing in my wardrobe that can even compare to them so it was a definite risk, one that I am very glad I have taken. They are an item that can be worn all year round, now with black garments and in the summer with a brightly coloured top and bag. They're a definite wardrobe must have in my eyes.

As soon as I saw this black wrap front top on the rail, my mind instantly paired it with the shorts. I sometimes find that wrap tops can reveal a bit too much but I must say that the shape and material of this top, make it perfectly suitable. It is the definition of a perfect finishing touch and I will definitely be getting my wear out of it. It also comes in a thicker light grey version, and a thin dark grey version. Due to the bold V neck, I didn't think a necklace was necessary so instead paired with some statement blue and silver earrings.

For ages I have searched for a plain black handbag that would compliment any outfit. The answer lies within this gorgeous relaxed box shaped beauty, which comes with two straps. Sometimes you need the bag as the main centrepiece but here I have managed to find an effortlessly versatile bag that can be both a statement but subtle when you need it to be. With three separate compartments, it is also very practical. Who can complain at such a handy, all round perfect bag?

With the natural light, providing me with no 'flattering' close up's of my make up and earrings, I went back to selfie central AKA my bathroom to try and capture the shot. These earrings manage to spruce up an outfit-added to a simple tee and jeans combination and they cause an instant transformation. The light pastel shades also compliment the blonde in my hair. On my eyes, I have gone for a flick, slightly higher than usual and made my lashes as long as possible to try and achieve the false lash effect. I have never found a mascara that works as well as this and I highly recommend that you get it. The link and name is below. My lips are covered in a gorgeous shade of red. Due to the cutback of colour in the outfit, red lips were a must.

Addicted to Shopping|Another Haul

Listening to George Ezra's album my mind gets lost within the words. It is such a feel good, care free album that causes your emotions to run wild. With his mesmerising deep voice and controversial lyrics, I literally can not get enough of the Ezra. It is a singing into the hair brush, volume four notches above average, dancing round the room kind of album and I am totally in love. I cannot tell you what link George Ezra has to the following blog post but it seemed like a good note to start on.

Well, it has been a while since I last blogged due to time running away from me. I seem to blink and the week is already over. The weather hasn't helped much either. With what I would class as extreme coldness (approx -1 degrees) it hasn't exactly been the kind of weather to venture out the comfort of my home to blog. The piles on my bedroom floor however, have been increasing and the mess was just too much for me. Okay I haven't ventured very far out of my home, literally just outside the back door BUT I managed to get a couple of pictures to show you some of my new "unnecessary" purchases!

I have gained a very strong love for checked shirts, especially ones that are a little oversized. The simple addition of a checked shirt can transform an outfit-from throwing it over a dress, tying it around your waist or pairing it with jeans, it is an effortless transformation! Why have I only just realise the outstanding qualities that a checked shirt has? Underneath, is a three quarter length sleeved, to the knee dress-which I must say is extremely comfortable. The ribbed detailing and effortless simplicity, makes this a staple piece in my wardrobe. To complete the look, I added these burgundy 'hiker boots' that will definitely not be used for their hiking purpose. Due to my small size 4's I managed to rescue these from the kids section in New Look-finally my petiteness resulted in some money being saved.

I love finding an item, that has so much potential. You know the kind of item that you have already assigned to an outfit, before you've even paid for it. This simple black long length t-shirt, with slits down the side is the perfect top to wear over a patterned skirt. I didn't know how well it would work but I am very satisfied with the results. Peering out the sides, and at the bottom is a geometric, mustard, black and white print skirt. My shoes, although still chunky are a more feminine option than my usual biker boot look.

Technically this throw over, is not mine as it has its place in my Mums wardrobe. However with the 'one size fits all' label and the fact that it follows the monochrome trend, has sleeves and doesn't drown me- I think we will be sharing! Underneath is a gorgeous khaki green, ribbed, slightly see through high neck top. High neck tops have been my go to this winter and I have lived in this one especially. On my feet are a serious bargain! Of course, they are a pair of boots and it so happens that I was talking about getting a new pair to wear so that my favourite ones do not wear out. I could not say no, when I saw the amazing sale price!

None of the images justify the chunky-ness of these shoes. The fact is, I probably could wear them for grip in the snow due to the enormous rubber soles! However glamorous that idea is, the actual suede shoe, would get ruined. "I do not have a pair of beige boots' was the justification for these! I have never really owned a 'tunic' either, so there was definitely room in my wardrobe for this green and gold checked piece! It also looks lovely with thick black tights and chunky boots! Paired with an ever so bright white, clutch (the shade resembling that of Simon Cowell's teeth) the outfit was complete. Not forgetting the simple gold, earrings!

Okay that was quite a big blog but I needed to cram so many different pieces in! Hopefully I will manage to start blogging more frequently and in more 'adventurous' places than my conservatory brick wall! Hope you enjoyed, as much as I enjoyed writing it!
